In this episode of Rumors of Doing Good, Rob sits down with Rae Pears from Bristol, UK, founder of Girlhood Reclaimed. Rae is pioneering a bold vision to reclaim and restore the stories of women and girls who have been silenced or overlooked. They talk about the challenges of starting something new, the courage it takes to imagine differently, and the power of creativity and healing in building spaces where girlhood can flourish again.
Listen in for a conversation about reclaiming what’s lost, pioneering what’s needed, and the hope that emerges when imagination meets action.

About Rae:
Rae is a feminist activist and academic with over 20 years’ experience working with young people, women’s mental health, and the field of male violence against women and girls (MVAWG). Her work began in youth settings and women’s organisations in Bristol, where she developed a deep commitment to supporting young women to make sense of their experiences and feel empowered to take up space in the world. After coordinating a local women’s helpline and completing an MA in Women and Child Abuse, Rae founded Girlhood Reclaimed—a community interest company disrupting misogynistic narratives through feminist research, training, and creating safe spaces for young women, girls, and children from marginalised genders to reclaim joy and engage in feminist activism.
